windows 10 unwanted icons

System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree

I had some residual icons lingering in the navigation pane on a windows 10 and wanted to remove them.

Best way I found was to search the registry for System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree and change the value for that icon from 1 to 0.
There's a bunch of hits for System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree so make sure to pick the right one, the name of it should be the top value to the right.
If the icon have a rare name, you could search for that name instead and stop when you find System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree and set it to zero.

Lastly I should mention that you should first check so the icon can't be removed with a right click and "unpin from quick access", if you have that option - go with it.
