Several men are in the locker room of a golf
club.
A cell phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands free speaker-function and begins to talk.
Everyone else in the room stops to listen.
MAN: "Hello."
WOMAN: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"
MAN: "Yes."
WOMAN: "I am at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only $1,000. Is it OK if I buy it?"
MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."
WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2005 models. I saw one I really liked."
MAN: "How much?"
WOMAN: "$90,000."
MAN: "OK, but for that price, I want it with all the options."
WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing .....the house I wanted last year is back on the market. They're asking $950,000."
MAN: "Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $900,000. They will probably take it. If not, we can go the extra 50 thousand. It is really a pretty good price."
WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!!"
MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."
The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in astonishment, mouths agape.....
Then he smiles and asks: "Anyone know who this phone belongs to?"
Digitala fotoramar blir allt vanligare. Vanligast är ramar man uppdaterar genom att lägga bilderna på ett minneskort som placeras i ramen. Det finns även ramar som uppdateras med IR, Bluetooth, MMS, etc. Jag har sett några som på andra sidan pölen säljs med abonnemang för att få dig att betala en månadsavgift om du vill kunna uppdatera den.
Skulle jag köpa en för att ge bort till exempelvis släktingar skulle jag välja en med MMS som man kan pula in ett kontantkort i. Ramen ringer ju själv inga samtal så den löpande kostnaden blir ganska låg samtidigt som du kan uppdatera den med nya bilder på barnbarnen närhelst du vill.
Jag byggde ett par stycken tidigare när listpriset på en ram låg mellan 4 och 7 tusen pengar.
Dessa kan uppdateras med IR och via ftp över Internet (trådlöst) eller om man så vill, genom att ta ut och uppdatera minneskortet manuellt. Inte väldens största skärm kanske , men kostar det gratis ska man inte vara kinkig.
So I guess this will be one of those weekends that you'll spend all curled up in the sofa, watching old reruns. Mmmm popcorn... Oh well, just hope that the electricity want give in to the weather goods or some fallen tree.
An analogue era has come to an end, at least for me. I was cleaning up in one of my closets, one that I previously used as a darkroom. On a shelf in the back I found piles of photo paper from the early 90:th. Most of the boxes aren't even opened. It was a bundle of fun, doing it all by hand but I'm glad I don't have to anymore.
I wonder what I will put away on the empty shelves. I guess well see in about 10 years when its time for the next cleanout.
